Anyone inside the Boys 13 cabin would find a face-off between Katsumi and an adorable cocker spaniel puppy, determined to stay exactly where it is.

"Look, do you have any idea how many animals there are in here already? What makes you think there'd be room for more?"

That's true. [crouching by the puppy, who is now sniffing his fingers] Persistent little guy, aren't you?

[ Xiao Yu is very interested in this ]

Maybe that was the point of the puppies. She certainly had no qualms in deciding I was taking her home with me.

[Xiao Yu is very welcome to start sniffing around if she wants]

Probably. [scritching behind tiny puppy ears] They do seem very determined on that point.

[ oh boy is she wiggling ]

I don't think you really have a choice in the matter.

[sighs ruefully and smiles a little] No, I don't think I do.

[and as if satisfied by the capitulation, puppy is now ignoring him in favour of Xiao Yu]

Oh, I see how it is.

[ and there's a puppy on the floor running for new pup as fast as her little legs can carry her ]

I think you've been dumped.

[folds his arms and watches in amusement]

I think I have, yeah. At least we don't have to worry about them not getting on.

I heard it's a lot easier if they're introduced as puppies.

[ also very amused! ]

Especially if they decide they love everyone they meet.

[god, why so cute?]

Perhaps they are special camp puppies that are incapable of being anything but friendly.

[ puppies. only explanation ]

Maybe. That seems kind of weird, though. No-one's friendly every single moment. Not even puppies.

Don't know what to tell you, then. [ grins ] So, since it's decided it's staying here, have you thought of a name yet?

He kind of reminds me of a friend of mine. I might use that.

Oh? What's that?

Gamu. Really friendly guy but stubborn as anything. He really likes getting into things and figuring out how they work.

[pets the puppy's ears] What do you think, little guy? Gamu suit you?

[ excited puppies everywhere! ]

I think he's happy with it.

[scooping up said excited puppy and getting a thorough face-wash] I think so, yes.

[ griiiins ] Just make sure your baby doesn't make my baby have babies. She needs to keep her girlish figure, after all.

[gives Gamu a considering look] I think they're a bit young for that but maybe McCoy will have some ideas. Unless there's a vet around Camp.

[ i do like puppies but not enough to get mine preggers thanks ] They're young now, but they will grow up eventually.

[this is true. and Camp already had one puppy explosion anyway] True. I'll see what he thinks. [scritches Gamu's ears] Sorry fella. Gotta be done.

[ no more puppies for now ] Takeru told me the hospital was probably the place to go to for their shots and things, so perhaps we'll find something.

Maybe. We should get them checked out anyway, just to be on the safe side.
