Character: Kajio Katsumi
Series: Ultraman Gaia
Character Age: 24
Job: XIG liaison to cfud.
Canon: Set in 1999, Earth is under monster attack. Some originate on Earth, some invading from space, but the one thing they have in common is that they’re being driven to attack by a cosmic entity known as Zogu. The only things standing between Earth and its destruction are the Ultramen Gaia and Agul, along with the human defence force known as XIG (eXpanded Interceptive Guardians).
Kajio Katsumi is part of XIG. He’s a pilot - the best pilot - and the captain of the front-line defence team, Team Lightning. If a plan is dangerous or requires delicate handling Kajio is the one that usually gets given the job. Need someone to take out a signal causing mass mind control? Kajio’s your guy. Need someone to fly down the middle of a hurricane to get at the monster at the bottom? Kajio again. He’s confident, sarcastic and bordering on arrogant but he’s able to put that aside when it counts and just get the job done.
Sample Entry:
When I thought I was coming to a training camp this... was not what I was expecting. The swamp, okay, that I can deal with, it's not so different from normal boot camp but the wildlife is weird around here and that's not even getting into anything else. Note to self, though, don't shoot the wildlife, no matter how weird it is. It can probably fight back and it has all the advantages.
I don't even know what they expect me to do here. There's no equipment and no training grounds, let alone pilots or even raw recruits. Who exactly am I supposed to be helping train, the walking dead? I don't think I really want to make zombies more efficient at what they do, they've got it pretty nailed as it is without my help. And if there's anything else around, I don't know that I really want to be training that either.
This can't be what they expect me to be doing, I refuse to believe that. If I could just get in touch with someone, anyone, I could get this cleared up, but no. Just my luck to end up somewhere in the middle of nowhere where even basic radio signals are blocked. I'll have to try again later, maybe it will have cleared up by then. And maybe pigs will start flying and I'll end up having to go look for anything that might be jamming the signal and disabled it. Preferably without having to shoot my way through the undead before they can eat my brains. ...Okay, Kajio, that does it; when you get out of here, no more zombie movies ever again, all things considered it's just way too creepy.
So, zombies. Mysteriously jammed signals. Suspicious looking wildlife. Really starting to get the feeling this is not where I’m supposed to be. There's nothing even remotely official looking out here and even taking into account who I work for the sheer amount of weirdness is going overboard. This place just isn't right, not at all.
...This isn't the Camp For the Untrained Discipline is it?
